Arts & Culture
Social and community life in Cherwell is vibrant. A full programme of spring and summer festivals, autumn and winter fairs, provide focal points for the community. Some draw on our long heritage – the famous Hobby Horse Festival in Banbury, and the Adderbury Day of Dance for example. Some celebrate the best of the new, such as the Cropredy Music Festival, and Deddington Literary Festival. All provide a chance to let our hair down and indulge for a while.
The arts thrive in North Oxfordshire. Banbury Museum holds regular exhibitions of art and photography, and there are performances by local theatrical groups, music ensembles and dance companies.
The Mill Arts Centre and Live Arts at St Mary's in Banbury, the Courtyard Youth Arts Centre in Bicester and smaller venues provide theatre, dance, live music and workshops.
